Benefits

  • Clarendon scholarships fully cover course fees for all students, regardless of their fee status (home or overseas).
  • Full-time scholars receive an annual grant to cover living expenses, which is at least equivalent to the UKRI minimum doctoral stipend. In 2023, this amounted to at least £18,622, typically enough to support a single student living in Oxford.
  • Scholarships are typically awarded for the duration of the student’s fee liability, the period during which they are required to pay course fees to the University.
  • Some academic divisions may offer Clarendon scholarships that extend beyond the fee liability period, but only living expense grants are provided during this extension, and continuation charges are not covered by the Clarendon Fund.
  • Scholars will be informed of the precise length of their scholarship in their offer letters.
